Puerto Armuelles is located at the southern tip of Chiriqui Province on the Pacific coast of Panama, directly on the Pacific main shipping corridor between the Panama Canal and South America. The port offers natural deepwater access with the ability to accommodate large merchant vessels, tankers, and bulk carriers at their end-of-life.

The site’s position within Panama’s free-zone framework provides significant advantages for raw material export and equipment import, and aligns with the Government of Panama’s strategic industrial development priorities for the Baru region.

FoilDock Panama is implementing the FOIL Basin contained drydock system at this site — Panama’s first fully compliant ship recycling facility under the Hong Kong Convention and EU Ship Recycling Regulation frameworks.
