Puerto Armuelles sits at the southern tip of the Chiriquí Province on Panama's Pacific coast, directly on the main Pacific shipping corridor between the Panama Canal and South America. The port offers natural deep-water access capable of accommodating large merchant vessels, tankers, and bulk carriers at end-of-life.

The site's position within Panama's free-trade zone framework provides significant advantages for raw material export and equipment import, and aligns with the Government of Panama's strategic industrial development priorities for the Barú region.
